So, funny thing, I don’t drink a ton. I mean, in my twenties, I enjoyed a beverage or two regularly. Then my body went wonky and in my thirties my heart decided that a drink or two meant some increased heartbeats when I was trying to sleep. Not the most fun feeling to wake up to. What I’ve found over the last decade and a half is that one drink and I’m good to go. More than one, my anxiety will kick in. That means if I’m going to have that one drink, it better be worth it. These margaritas fit that bill. My husband is the best and knows I’ve rarely met a frozen drink that I don’t like. He worked to perfect a margarita recipe for me. Below you’ll see what he’s landed on. Some nights I ask him to take it easy on the booze because honestly, I just love the frozen fruit, but even so, these are glorious. The Tall One’s House Margarita – 6oz tequila (the Tall One highly recommends Teremana, which is the Rock’s tequila. This is what we use, linked below.) – 2oz triple sec – Around a couple of tablespoons frozen limeade (to your preference. He uses this instead of simply syrup, which is what most frozen margaritas call for.) – 3/4 cup frozen fruit (We make three varieties: strawberry, blueberry, and a mixture of the two, which is what is in the photo. All are great.) Blend till smooth – Add about 1/2-3/4 cup of ice to your slushy preference. Drink up, serves two. Note, I call this a serving of fruit for the day. Totally healthy, right? You’re welcome. |
