This is, far and away, my most requested recipe when I go to a family gathering. It’s originally from a Pampered Chef recipe years ago that a friend shared with me. I’ve done a few tweaks. It’s ridiculous easy, but kids love it. I make it every time my family gets together.
Kat’s Bacon Bites
- 2 packages regular cream cheese (8 oz. bars, softened)
- 1 package Real Bacon Bites (I typically use Hormel)
- 2 rolls regular crescent rolls sheets
Mix softened cream cheese with bacon bites. (I’ve seasoned it with salt and pepper and some minced onions before, but often go with it as is.)
Unroll the crescent roll sheets. You divide the cream cheese mixture and put half on one sheet, half on the other. Smear the cream cheese into a layer. Roll them up so you have one log each. I typically roll starting at one short end to the other, so it’s a larger roll. This gives you less pinwheels. If you want more pinwheels, roll from long side to long side. You can either refrigerate at this point and continue later or proceed to the next step.
Slice each roll into one inch pieces and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Cook at 350 for 18-20 minutes. (Lightly brown)
