Kat’s Garlic Bread

Kat’s Garlic Bread

  • Some type of bread. Here I used Izzio’s Ciabatta
  • A head of garlic cloves
  • 1 stick salted butter, room temp
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1/4-1/3 cup of grated parmesan
  • salt and pepper
  1. Preheat the oven to 400.
  2. Cut the top off the head of garlic. Place it on a piece of foil, drizzle with olive oil. Crumple up the foil and bake it directly in the oven on the rack for 30 minutes. Remove and let cool a bit once removed so you can handle the foil.
  3. Change oven temp now to 425 to preheat.
  4. Place the softened butter in a bowl. Add spices and parmesan. Squeeze in the garlic cloves. Mix until they are softened and incorporated into the mixture. Add salt and pepper to your liking – I just add a little.
  5. Cut the bread in half horizontally. Smear the butter mixture on the cut side of both halves.
  6. Place bread on a cookie sheet and put in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until browned.
  7. Cut and enjoy. 🙂
